This Is a “how-to” create the greenish ghostly ectoplasm of the anniversary model from GW , Darrakar. This method can be used for every night haunt models !

Step 1. First, you take your assemblied Darrakar and primecoat it Chaos Black. This is important, as 2/3 of the model from top, and down is going to be as dark as possible.

Now you take your citadel Ionrach Skin, and cover the lower parts of the ectoplasm (under the visible cloack). The trick is here to make pointy arrow shaped lines following the models curves upwards. This will need around 4 thin layers.

Step 2. Now you take your Citadel Incubi Darkness, and paint the whole top cloack, and also further down to where your Ionrach skin is. The technique is the same as before, make pointy arrows, but this time downwards. Place these arrows in between the ionrach skin. The purpose of this technique is to get a nicer transition between these two colours.

Step 3. Now its time to blend those colours in together. This is optional, but i wanted a kind of turqoise effekt on the Ionrach skin part. Mix Citadel Nialakh Oxide, with Lahmian Medium, i would say 1:5, as you want this glaze to be very a very thin layer. Apply this glaze with 1 layer on The Ionrach skin part all The way up to the arrows so it also covers the Incubi Darkness arrows. Make sure its not pooling to much, burde as you can see in the picture bellow, i applied more in the recesses.

Step 4. At this time, i really hope you have collected a lot of patience. Because you really need it now!

This is the longest step in the process, as this is the grande transition part. To get the greenish/turqoise effect, you need to make a mix of coelia greenshade, Kabalite green and Lahmian Medium, and you need a big amount! If you have patience, i recommend mix Coelia greenshade/kabalite green 1:8 lahmian medium. Its important its really thin, as this will give you the smoothest result.

Apply The glaze on The incubi darkness/Ionrach skin arrows, and around 2/3 parts Down The ionrach skin.( illustrated on the picture bellow)

Apply around 10 coats.

Step 5. Now we are getting there! Continue using your glaze, but now you just need to cover the incubi Darkness/Ionrach Skin arrows, and 1/3 Down The ionrach skin part.

i recommend 20 coats, but ofcourse this depends on the thickness of your glaze.

Step 6. Now we have The transition of all the colours on The ectoplasm. To make these colours blend more together, apply a mix of Hexwraith Flame and Lahmian Medium 1:5, on The whole ectoplasm part. This step is also optional, but it gives a cool greenish glow on the ectoplasm.

Step 7. Last step. Now we just need some highlights and The ectoplasm is done! Highlight all The edges and holes with kabalite green And finish of edge highlighting the same areas with sybarite Green. The areas where The ionrach skin is still visible (The tips) , hightlight with deepkin flesh and edge highlight with White scar.

And there it is, the mysterious greenish ectpoplasm of your nighthaunt is done!

as mentiones before, be very patient, and you will get the coolest result.

Good Luck! 👻
